13. A sum of rs 4000 amounts to rs 5000 in 5 years. What will rs 3500 amount to at the same rate of simple

R = ?

T = 5 years

SI = Amount-Principle

SI = 5000-4000 = ₹1000

SI = PRT/100

1000 = 4000×R×5/100

R = 1000×100/4000×5

R = 5%

Therefore, SI in 3 years for ₹3500 at the rate of 5% is

SI = PRT/100

= 3500×3×5/100

= ₹525

Therefore, the money will account to principle+SI

Amount = 3500+525 = ₹4025
