• the beans are kept in water which is a hypotonic solution.
• when the cells are placed in hypotonic solution water diffuses into the cell causing the cytoplasm to build up pressure against the world that is called the turgor pressure the entry of water into the cell is called as endosmosis
• when the cell is kept in a hypertonic solution like salt water ,water moves out of the cell .this leads to shrinking of the cell which is called as exosmosis
• Diffusion takes place from high concentration to low concentration
