nucleus. Given that mass of Cl nucleus = 34.98000
1, mass of proton = 1.007825 u, mass of neutron =
1.008665 u and 1 u is equivalent to 931 Mev.

Atomic no of Cl=17=no of protons

Atomic mass no=35

No of neutron=35-17=18

Mass of proton=17×1.007=17.119

Mass of neutron=18×1.008=18.14

Total mass of nucleus

=17.119+18.14

=35.26

Given mass of nucleus=34.98

Actual mass=35.26-34.98=0.274

BindingEnergy=0.284×931=264.4

BE per nucleon=264.4/35

Total no of nucleons

=protons+neutron=18+27=35

BE per nucleon=7.5MeV

AS I HAVE TAKEN APPROXIMATE VALUES THE ANSWER MUST BE GREATER THAN 7.5 HENCE THE ANS IS D
