Chemical Formulae:
- Iron Sulphate:
Iron having chemical formula 'Fe' and valency usually 2, combines with sulphate of valency 2. So the resulting formula would be FeSO₄
- Copper Nitrate:
Copper has chemical formula of 'Cu' and valency usually 2.
This combines with Nitrate having chemical formula 'NO₃' and valency 1
So the resulting formula would be Cu(N0₃)₂
- Sodium Sulphide:
Sodium has a chemical formula of 'Na' and valency 1.
This combines with Sulphur having chemical formula 'S' and valency 2.
So the resulting formula would be Na₂S
- Magnesium Hydrogen Carbonate:
Magnesium has a chemical formula 'Mg' and valency 2
Hydrogen-Carbonate has a chemical formula 'HCO₃' and valency 1
So the resulting formula would be Mg(HCO₃)₂
Diagrams for each are given in attachment.

- Metals donate electrons and form positive ion.
- Non metals accept electrons and form negative ion.
- Bond formed by sharing of electrons between Metals and Non metals is known as Ionic bond
