✰✰|| Given ||✰✰

  • Devi’s mother is three times as old as Devi.

  • Five years ago, Devi’s mother was four times as old as Devi

✰✰|| To Find || ✰✰

  • Present age of Devi's mother

|| Solution ||

Let, the devi age be x

age of Devi's mother = 3x

age of Devi's mother 5 years ago = 4x

3x - 5 years = 4x - 20 years

20 - 5 years = 4x - 3x

15 years = x

present age of Devi's mother = 3x

present age of Devi's mother = 3 × 15 years

⇒ present age of Devi's mother = 45 years

present age of Devi's mother is 45 years

Given :

  • Devi’s mother is three times as old as Devi.

  • Five years ago, Devi’s mother was four times as old as Devi was then.

To find :

  • Their present ages =?

Step-by-step explanation :

Let, Devi’s present age be x years.

Then, Devi’s mother present age be 3x years .

Now,

Five years ago Devi’s age = x - 5 years

Five years ago Devi’s mother age = 3x - 5 years

According to the question :

➮ 4 ( x - 5) = 3x - 5

➮ 4x - 20 = 3x - 5

➮ 4x - 3x = 20 - 5

➮ x = 15

Therefore, We get the value of x = 15 years.

Hence,

Devi’s present age, x = 15 years

Devi’s mother present age, 3x = 3 × 15 = 45 year's
