Answers
Explanation:
Fertilization is the process by which the male and female gametes fuse to form the zygote. There are two types of fertilization- External fertilization- It is the fertilization where the eggs are fertilized outside the body of the organisms. They occur mostly in wet environments.
The stages of fertilization can be divided into four processes: 1) sperm preparation, 2) sperm-egg recognition and binding, 3) sperm-egg fusion and 4) fusion of sperm and egg pronuclei and activation of the zygote.
Sexual reproduction starts with the combination of a sperm and an egg in a process called fertilization. Humans provide an example of the former whereas seahorse reproduction is an example of the latter. Fertilization, pictured in Figure 1a is the process in which gametes (an egg and sperm) fuse to form a zygote.
Fertilization is the fusion of male gamete with the female gamete. Once the pollen grains settle on the stigma of the flower they form pollen tube. The pollen tube grows towards the ovary through style. Once the pollen tube reaches the ovary its tip dissolves to release the pollen grain.
