so first solve (1) we get 1ohm because they are parallel.

then solve (2) we get 1ohm because they are also parallel.

then we get circuit as shown in 2nd pic.

those two 1ohm resistors are in series. solve them and you get 2ohm.

then we get circuit as shown in 3rd pic.

those two 2ohm resistors are in parallel.solve them and you get 1ohm.
