13.(a)When water is heated from 0 0C, its volume decreases because its density increases and you can see this effect upto 4 0C. Because the density of ice is maximum at 4 0C.

(b)The density of water is maximum at 4°C. It decreases when it is cooled from 4°C to 0°C or it is heated above 4°C.

14.The density of water at 4°C is 1.0 g c m − 3 g\ cm^{-3} g cm−3. "Hello, welcome to lead over by the density of water and 4 degrees Celsius.

15.Speed can be thought of as the rate at which an object covers distance. A fast-moving object has a high speed and covers a relatively large distance in a given amount of time, while a slow-moving object covers a relatively small amount of distance in the same amount of time.

16. metre per second

The S.I unit of speed is metre/second or metre per second i.e m s − 1 m\ s^{-1} m s−1.

17.l A car travels with a speed 12 m s − 1 m\ s^{-1} m s−1, while a scooter travels with a speed 36 k m h − 1 km\ h^{-1} km h−1. Which of the two travels faster? Therefore the speed of a car is more. Car travels faster than a scooter.
