triangle ABC ∼ triangle PQR,  perimeter of triangle ABC = 32cm, perimeter of triangle PQR = 48cm and PR = 6cm 

since the y are similar, 

AB/PQ = BC/QR = AC/PR 

AC/PR = perimeter of triangle ABC/perimeter of triangle PQR 

AC/6 = 32/48 

AC×48 = 6×32 

AC=(6×32)/48

AC=192/48

AC=4

therefore AC = 4cm
