Given data :-

  • Migam bought an iron for 1200.
  • He spent 40 for transportation.
  • He want to sell it for 25% profit.

Solution :-

→ cost price = C.P

→ selling price = S.P

→ Total cost = T.C

→ profit percenctage = Profit %

Here,

→ C.P = 1200

→ Profit % = 25 %

→ Transportation cost = 40.

→ Total cost = C.P with transportation cost

→ Total cost = 1200 + 40

→ Total cost = 1240

We use formula to find selling price.

S.P = { [100 + Profit%]/100} × T.C

S.P = { [100 + 25]/100} × 1240

S.P = { 125/100} × 1240

S.P = 1.25 × 1240

S.P = 1550

Hence, Migam need to sell an iron for 1550 to get profit 25%.

Data Given :

Cost price = Rs. 1200

Transportation = Rs. 40

Profit % = 25 %

We should find :

Selling price of the Iron

Let ,

Total Cost price = Cost price + Transportation

= 1200 + 40

CP = Rs. 1240

SP = 100 + P % / 100 × CP

= 100 + 25 / 100 × 1240

= 125 / 100 × 1240

= 1.25 × 1240

= Rs. 1550
