Rahul has applied a force of 100 N on an object, at an angle of 60 degree to the horizontal.
The object gets displaced in the horizontal direction and 800 J work is done. What is the
displacement of the
object? *

To Find :-

  • The displacement of the object.

Solution :-

Given,

  • Applied force (F) = 100 N
  • Angle (θ) = 60°
  • Work done (W) = 800 J

As we know that,

\red\bigstar W = Fscosθ

[ Put the values ]

\longrightarrow 800 = 100 × s × cos60°

\longrightarrow 800 = 100s × ¹/2

\longrightarrow 800 = 50s

\longrightarrow s = 800/50

\longrightarrow s = 16 m \green\bigstar

Therefore,

The displacement of the object is 16 m.

For information :-

Work,

Definition :- Work is said to be done when a force applied to an object moves that object.

Formula :- We can calculate work by multiplying the force by the movement of the object.

W = F × s

Unit :- The SI unit of work is the joule (J)

Displacement of object

 \huge {\red {\fbox {Solution}}}

As we know that Work done = Fscosθ

[Putting values]

800 = 100 × s × 60

800 = 100s × ½

800 = 50 s

s = 800/50

s = 16 m/s

Therefore the displacement of object is 16 m/s

Extra information.

W = Work done

S = Displacement

Force - Push or pull on a object is called force.
