Question:-

The height of cylinder is 18 cm and the radius of

the Base is 7cm what is its total surface area?

  • a) 792 sq cm
  • b)1100 sq cm
  • c) 1584 sq cm
  • d] 2200 sq cm

Required Answer:-

Given:-

  • Height of the cylinder is 18cm
  • Radius of the base of the cylinder is 7cm

To Find:-

  • Total surface area of the cylinder

Solution:-

We know that:-

Total Surface Area =2πrh+2πr^2 sq. units

Where,

  • r is radius of the base
  • h is height of the cylinder

We were given:-

  • h = 18cm
  • r = 7cm

Substituting the values:-

=> Total surface area = {2π× 7× 18 +2π× (7)^2}sq.cm

=> Total surface area = {2× 22/7 × 7× 18 +2× 22/7× 49} sq.cm

=> Total surface area = 1100 sq.cm

Hence, the total surface area is b) 1100 sq.cm.

Some Important Formulas:-

  • Volume of a cylinder = π(r)^2h cube units

  • Total Surface Area of Cylinder = 2πrh+2πr^2 square units

  • Curved Surface Area of Cylinder = 2πrh square units.

  • Volume of a cone = 1/3π(r)^2 cube units

  • Total Surface Area of cone =πrl+π(r)^2 square units

  • Curved Surface Area of Cone = πrl square units

  • Volume of Cuboid = l×b×h cube units

  • Total Surface Area of Cuboid = 2 (lb + bh + hl) square units

  • Curved Surface Area of Cuboid = 2h(l +b) square units
