Let the centre of a circle be O so that AO= 24 cm

Tangent AB whose length is 25 cm.

OB is radius as shown.

Now we know that radius is perpendicular to the point of contact.

Here OB is perpendicular to the AB

Hence angle ABO= 90°

Consider ABO-

By using Pythagoras theorem:

AB^2 + OB^2=AO^2

(25)+OB^2=(24)^2

625+OB^2=576

625-576=OB^2

49=OB^2

OB=7

Hence the length of OB= 7 cm
