ganga action plan is a multi crore plan was started in 1985 by the government of india in order to stop the contamination of river ganga by the human activities because at that time it was found in the research that river ganga is Contiminated by coliform bacteria which is present in human intestine which shows that the concentration of human excreta in river ganga is high
