Solution:

A number divisible by both 22 and 6

must be divisible by LCM of 22 and 6

22 = 2 *11

6 = 2 * 3

LCM = 2 * 3 * 11 =  66

1000 + x  divisible by 66

             15

 66  _|  1000

              66

               ____

                   10

1000 = 66 * 15 + 10

1000 + x  is divisible by 66

=> 66 * 15 + 10  + x

=> 10 + x must be divisible by 66

Hence x = 56

Hence 56 must be added o 1000 to make the sum divisible by both 22 and 6
