Let the other number be x
HCF × LCM = Product of 2 numbers
⇒ 7 × 42 = 14 × x
⇒ 14x = 42 × 7
⇒ x = (42 × 7) ÷ 14
⇒ x = 294 ÷ 14
⇒ x = 21
∴ The value of other number = 21
