Hello there !
We have to express $132 in the ratio of 2 : 3 : 6. In the given question ratio is given so we can't take parts as $ 2 , $ 3 and $ 6 directly because there is something common between the ratio which has been divide while simplifying. So Let the common term be x.
Now, we can say that the parts are 2x , 3x and 6x.
It is given that we have to divide $132 in the ratio of 2 : 3 : 6. It means that the sum of 2x , 3x and 6x is $132.
Sum of parts of $132 = $132
⇒ 2 x + 3 x + 6 x = $132
⇒ 11 x = $ 132
⇒ x = $ 132 / 11
⇒ x = $ 12
∴ Parts are : 2x = 2( $12 ) = $24
3x = 3( $12 ) = $36
6x = 6( $12 ) = $72
∴ $132 in the ratio of 2 : 3 : 6 is $24 : $36 : $72
