Given - Volume of solution 1 : 100 ml

Molarity of solution 1 : 5 M

Volume of solution 2 : 800 ml

Molarity of solution 2 : 2.5 M

Find - Molarity of resultant solution

Solution - Molarity of resultant solution will be calculated by formula - MV = M1V1 + M2V2. M and V resultant molarity and volume.

Resultant volume will be = 100 + 800 = 900 ml.

Keeping the values in formula -

M*900 = 5*100 + 2.5*800

M*900 = 500 + 2000

M = 2500/900

M = 2.78 M

Hence, molarity of resultant solution will be d) 2.78 M.
