lets consider the ratios 2x, 5x, 5x

we know average is total number of observations uopn the number of observations

therefore,

Average = total number of observations/no. of observations

24= 2x+5x+5x/3

72 = 12x

x = 6

therefore

2x = 2 x 6 = 12

Hence the youngest age boy is 12 years
