[This answer is helpful If you're being asked to calculate the number of moles of  C₄H₁₀]

Answer:

0.25 moles

Explanation:

GIVEN :-

  • given mass of the gas in the container = 14. 5 g
  • Type of the gas = Butane C₄H₁₀

TO FIND :-

Number of moles of the gas

SOLUTION :-

  • number \: of \: moles \: of \:a\: gas\:\:=\:\: \frac{given\: mass\: of \:the\:gas}{molecular\:mass\:of\:the\:gas}

   => Calculating the gram molecular mass of C₄H₁₀

= (12 × 4) + (1 × 10)

= 48 + 10

= 58 g

   => Calculating number of moles

=  \frac{14.5}{58}

= \frac{1}{4}

= 0.25

ANSWER :-

The container contains 0.25 moles of C₄H₁₀.
