in a lift. What would be the reading of the balance
when (i) the lift is ascending with an acceleration of
2 m/s², (ii) descending with the same acceleration,
(iii) descending with a constant velocity of 2 m/s?

since it is ascending net acceleration =g+2=12m/s^-2.therefore the balance will read 120N
2.here it is descending so acceleration is 10-2=8 therefore reading is 80N
3. since it is not accelerating the reading will be the same as the weight =100N
