14. A carpet 6 m 20 cm long and 4 m 40 cm broad is
to be covered by a ribbon along its boundaries.
Find the length of the ribbon required. Also find
the cost if 1 m ribbon costs 15.​

so, to cover the boundary we need to find the perimeter

perimeter/length=2×(l+b)

=2×(620cm+440cm)

=2×1060

=2120cm

100cm=1m

2120cm=2120÷100=21.2m

cost of 1m=15rupees

so, cost of 21.2m=21.2×15

=rupees 318 is the cost of 21.2 m
