(b) What should be added to both the terms of 17:29 so that the ratio becomes 5:8?
(c) What should be subtracted from both the terms of 19:39 so that the ratio becomes 3:7?​

(a) (28+ x) : (40+ x) = 3 : 4

(28+x) × 4 = (40+ x) × 3

112 + 4x = 120 + 3x

4x - 3x = 120 - 112

x = 8
