Explanation:

1 Take some germinating seeds in the bulb of respirometer .

2 insert the tube of the respirometer into a beaker containing mercury.

3 introduce a pellet of KOH in the setup it will absorb the carbon dioxide .

4 set up another experiment without any seed to act as a control.

5 Observe after 1 day.

OBSERVATION -------the level of the mercury rises up in the respirometer tube but remains in the same control .

CONCLUSION---- this is because of the oxygen inside apparatus is used up by the seeds deuring respiration. As a result air pressure inside the bulb is reduc rising the
