14. A wire or leagth 86 cm is bent in the form of a rectangle such that its length is 7 cm more
than its breadth Find the length
and the breadth of the rectange so formed​

Here is Your answer....

Let the length of rectangle=l

⇒ breadth=l−7

⇒ Perimeter of rectangle=2(l+b)= Length of wire

⇒2(l+l−7)=86

⇒2l−7=43

⇒2l=50

⇒l=25cm

⇒ Breadth=18cm.

Length of wire = 86 cm

Also ,

Length of wire = Perimeter of rectangle

Let breadth of rectangle be x cm.

Then, length = (x + 7) cm

86 = 2(l + b) \\  \frac{86}{2}  = (x + 7 + x) \\ 43 = 2x + 7 \\ 2x = 43 - 7 \\ 2x = 36 \\ x = 18

Therefore, breadth of rectangle = 18 cm

Length of rectangle = (18 + 7) cm

= 25 cm
