{\red{\underline{\huge{\mathbb{Solution:-}}}}}

3x+4y=11.........(i)

4x+3y=12..........(ii)

Multiply 4 in the 1st equation for getting the same value of X.

12x + 16y = 44...........(i)

Multiply 3 in the second equation for getting the same value of X.

12x + 9y = 36............(ii)

By elimination:-

12x + 16y =44

12x + 9y = 36

(-). (-). (-)

7y = 8

→ y = 8/7

Put the value of Y in the (ii) equation.

4x + 3y = 12

→ 4x +3×8/7 = 12

→ 4x + 24/7= 12

→ 4x = 12-24/7

→ 4x = 60/7

→ x = 15/7

• Value of Y= 8/7

• Value of X= 15/7

Now,

x - y

= 15/7 - 8/7

= 7/7

= 1

Hence the value of (x - y) is 1.
