Greenhouse gases (GHGs) are a group of gases that are able to absorb heat in the atmosphere keeping the earth’s surface warm. This ability of gases to trap heat in thermal form and spread evenly at earth’s surface is known as Greenhouse effect. A green house is a glass chamber in which plants are grown to provide them warmth by trapping sun light. The presence of these GHGs in excess enhances the Greenhouse effect which is creating global warming and consequently climate change.
