Now,

fog = f ( g )

= f ( x² – 2 )

= 2( x²– 2 ) + 1

= 2x²– 4 + 1

= 2x²–3

gof = g ( f )

= g ( 2x + 1 )

= (2x + 1 )² – 2

= 4x² + 4x + 1 – 2

= 4x² + 4x – 1
