Correct Question :-

Shanthi Borrowed Total Rs.75000 from two banks . One bank charges interest at the rate of 15% per year andthe ouer bank at 20% per year. If at the end of the year, she Rs.12,000 as the total interest to the two banks, no the end of the year. How much Money she borrowed From Second Bank. ?

Solution :-

Lets Assume That, he borrowed Rs.X from Second Bank .

Than , amount she borrowed from First bank = Rs.(75000-x) . { As Total is 75k.)

Now,

First bank interest rate is = 15% .

→ Second Bank interest Rate is = 20% .

→ Total time = 1 year.

Now, we know That, in First Year Simple interest And compound interest both are Same.

So,

SI From bank 1 = (P * R * T) / 100

→ SI = [(75000-x)*15*1]/100

Similarly,

SI from Bank 2 = (x * 20)/100

Adding Both and comparing with Total Interest we get,

[(75000-x)*15]/100 + (20x)/100 = 12000

→ 15(75000-x) + 20x = 12000 * 100

→ 15*75000 - 15x + 20x = 1200000

→ 5x = 1200000 - 1125000

→ 5x = 75000

→ x = Rs.15000 .

Hence, Shanthi Borrowed Rs.15000 from Second bank . (Option C).

Answer:

Correct question:

Given:

• Shanthi borrowed total Rs.75000 from two banks.

• One bank charges interest at the rate of 15% per year and the ouer bank at 20% per year.

• If at the end of the year, she Rs.12,000 as the total interest to the two banks, no the end of the year.

Find:

• How much Money she borrowed From Second Bank?

Options:

(a) Rs. 18000

(b) Rs. 20000

(c) Rs. 15000

(d) Rs.19000

According to the question:

75000 = Amount from two banks.

15% = One bank intrest rate percentage per year.

20% = Ouer bank per gear.

12000 = End of the year from two banks.

• Let us assume 'x' as the amount he borrowed from the second bank.

Know terms:

SI = Simple interest.

CI = Compound interest.

P = Principal.

R = Rate.

T = Time.

n = number of years.

Using formula:

⇒ SI = (P × R × T)/100 [From bank 1]

⇒ SI = [(75000 - x) × (15 × 1)]/100

⇒ SI = [x × 20]/100 [From bank 2]

Using the above equations further calculations:

⇒ [(75000 - x) × 15]/100 + 20x/100 = 12000

⇒ (15 × 75000 - x) + 20x = 12000 × 100

⇒ 15 × 75000 - 15x + 20x = 1200000

⇒ 5x = (1200000 - 1125000) = 75000

⇒ 5x = 75000

x = 15000

Therefore, Option-(C) - 15000 rupees shanthi borrowed from the second bank.
