Given:-

  • The length of a rectangle is 8cm more than the breadth.

  • The perimeter of rectangle la 56 cm

To Find:-

  • The Length and Breadth of Rectangle

Formulae used:-

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

Where,

  • L = Length
  • B = Breadth

Now,

Let the Breadth be "x"

→ Length of Rectangle = x + 8

Now,

→ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

→ 56 = 2 {( x + ( x + 8)}

→ 56 = 2 ( 2x + 8)

→ 56/2 = 2x + 8

→ 28 = 2x + 8

→ 28 - 8 = 2x

→ 20 = 2x

→ 20/2 = x

→ x = 10

Hence, The value of x is 10

→ Breadth of Rectangle = x → 10cm

→ Length of Rectangle = x + 8 → 10 + 8 → 18cm

Hence, The Length and Breadth of Rectangle is 10cm and 18cm.

Answer:

breadth= x cm

length= x+ 8 cm

perimeter of rectangle= 2(l+b)

56= 2(x+8+x)

56= 2×(2x+8)

56=4x+16

56-16=4x

40=4x

40/4= x

10= x

b=10 cm. l=x+8= 10+8= 18cm
