14. The outer dimensions of a closed wooden
box are 42 cm x 30 cm x 27 cm. If the box is
made of wood 1 cm thick, find the capacity
of the box.

Answer:

Since the wood is 1 cm thick, the inner measurements of the box are (45−2)cm×(32−2)cm×(28−2)cm.

i.e. 43×30×26cm²

=33540cm²

Hence capacity of the box = inner volume of the box

=33540cm³
