Ans :- A triangular slave trade took place between Europe, Africa and the Americas.

(ii)Why was slave trade very important for the imperialist countries?

Ans :- many countries especially France did not have labours for the plantation work . therefore there was a slave trade among Europe , America and Africa . French merchants sailed from ports of Nantes and Bordeaux to Africa where the they brought the slaves from local chieftains .

(iii) When was the slave trade abolished in French colonies?

Ans :- In France, on 4 February 1794 (16 Pluviôse Year II in the French Revolutionary Calendar), the National Convention enacted a law abolishing slavery in the French colonies.
