Answer :

  • Total number of rows is 12
  • Number of plants in each rows is 12

Given :

  • Total plants is 144
  • Each rows contains as many plants as the numbers of rows

To find :

  • Number of rows and Number of plants in each row

Solution :

  • Let the number of rows be x
  • Let the number of plants each rows be x

Now , Total plants = total number of rows × number of plants in each row

Where, total plants is 144 , total number of rows is x and number of plants is x

》144 = x × x

》144 = x²

》x² = 144

》x = √144

Number of rows is √144

Now , we have to find the root of 144

》144 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3

Then,

》Square root of 144

》2 × 2 × 3

》4 × 3

》12

  • Total number of rows is 12
