step1:- divided both

element their atomic

weight

si :- given 0.2 g atom it

mean this is mole of Si

mole =weight/molecular weight

0.2=weight/28.8

weight=5.76g

now

Si :- 5.76/28.8=0.2

Cl:- 21.3g/35.5g=213/355=0.6

step2:-now take of

both element

Si:Cl=0.2:0.6=1:3

now we look here one

part of silicon react

with 3 part of chlorine

so, empirical

formula=SiCl3

weight=5.76g

now

Si : 5.76/28.8=0.2

CI:- 21.3g/35.5g=213/355-0.6

step2:-now take of

both element

Si:CI=0.2:0.6=1:3

now we look here one

part of silicon react

with 3 part of chlorine

so, empirical

formula SiC13
