i. Yes, it gives the clue. This sentence is said by Mrs. Dorling to the narrator. She thought that everyone was dead in the war and she was not expecting anyone to visit the house and claimed for their belongings.  

ii. The girl was rich and she had many valuable things. When the war started Mrs. Dorling changed his address. After the war, now girl was living alone in a rented house and she wanted to meet Mrs. Dorling and asked for her valuable belongings. But later she found that her belonging was being used by Mrs. Dorling so she left all the things behind and moved on.  

iii. Narrator was sad by seeing the belonging of her mother was kept distasteful in Mrs. Dorling house. Therefore she wanted to forget the address.  

iv. The war destroys many life of people. In this story this war destroyed the life of girl. She lost her mother and her belongings too. She visited the place to claim her mother’s belongings but felt sad by seeing the changed environment of the house.
