15.2 The swimming pool has a diving board, where the swimming coach trains the students
to dive off boards that are placed at different heights. The speed, Sm/s, when they enter
the water from a board of heighth metres, can be found using this formula,

a) Calculate the value ofs when h=10 m.
b) Find the value of h, when s=4.2 m/s

Given : s = √1.96h

s = speed in m/s

h = height in m

To Find : a) Calculate the value ofs when h=10 m.

b) Find the value of h, when s=4.2 m/s

Solution:

s = √1.96h

h = 10

=> s = √1.96* 10

=>  s = = √19.6

=> s = 4.427   m/s

s = √1.96h

s = 4.2

=> 4.2 = √1.96h

=> 4.2² = 1.96h

=> h = 9

value of h = 9 m
