Given:

  • Cost of pens = Rs. 7
  • Cost of pencils = Rs. 3

To Find

Number of pen he bought each type=??

\large{\underline{\underline{\bf{Solution : }}}}

  \rm{\Rightarrow{Let \:  the \:  number \:  of \:  pen = x}}\\ \rm{\Rightarrow

{and  \: Number  \: of \:  pencil =108 - x }}\\ \rm{\Rightarrow

{Cost  \: of \:  pen \:  = 7x }}\\ \rm{\Rightarrow

{Cost \:  of \:  pencil = 3(108 - x)}}

  \underline {\underline{\Large{\bold{A.T.Q}}}}

\rm{\implies{7x + 3(108 - x) = 564}} \\

\rm{\implies{7x + 3(108 - x) = 564}} \\

\rm{\implies{4x + 324 = 564}} \\

\rm{\implies{4x  = 564 - 324}} \\  \rm{\implies{4x  = 240}} \\

\rm{\implies{  \times  = \frac{240}{4} }} \\  \therefore\rm \: x =  \frac{ \cancel{240}}{ \cancel4}  \\    \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \boxed{\rm{x = 60}}

\rightarrow{\rm{Number\: of\: pencil=108-60=48}}

{\LARGE{\boxed {\rightarrow{\rm{Hence,\:48 \:pencils}}}}}

\boxed{\rm{\Rightarrow{Let \:  the \:  number \:  of \:  pen = 60}}}\\ \boxed{\rm{\Rightarrow

{and  \: Number  \: of \:  pencil =40 }}}
