15.A rectangular park of length 20 m and breadth 18 m is to be bounded by a 2 m wide
jogging track from outside. What will be the area of the track?

Answer:

Area of rectangular park = 20× 18

= 360m ^2

Area of park including track = 24×22

528 m^2.

Area of track = 528- 360

Area = 168m^2

Length of the park including jogging track = 20 + 2+ 2 = 24m   ( as jogging is 2 m wide)

Breadth of the park including jogging track = 18 +2 +2 = 22 m      ( as jogging is 2 m wide)    

Area of park including track  = 24 m× 22m = 528 m²

Area of rectangular park = 20m× 18m=  360m²

hence area of track =( 528- 360)m²=168 m²

Ans :- 1) 168 sq m
