(i) The quantity of water left in tank is 835 liters .

(ii)  The quantity of misuse water is 165 liters

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The capacity of the tank = 1000 liters

The %age of water leakage = 16.5 %

The time at which tank empty = 2 hours

According to question

(i) Let The quantity of water left in tank = L liters

∵ %age of water leakage = 16.5 %

So, quantity of water left in tank = Total capacity of tank - total capacity in tank ×  %age of water leakage

i.e                                            L = 1000 liters - 1000 liters × 16.5%

Or,                                          L = 1000 - 1000 × \dfrac{16.5}{100}

Or,                                          L =  1000 - 1000 × 0.165

Or,                                          L = 1000 - 165

∴                                             L = 835 liters

So, The quantity of water left in tank =  L = 835 liters

Hence, The quantity of water left in tank is 835 liters . Answer

(ii) The quantity of misuse water = Total quantity in tank before - quantity in tank left after leakage

i.e The quantity of misuse water = 1000 liters - 835 liters

∴   The quantity of misuse water = 165 liters     .

Hence, The quantity of misuse water is 165 liters  Answer
