Explanation:

Initial velocity=4m/s

Final velocity=8m/s

Initial momentum=mu (u is Initial velocity)

=100×4

=400kg.m/s

Final momentum=mv (v is Final velocity)

=100×8

=800kg.m/s

Given:-

  • Mass of object ,m = 100kg

  • Initial velocity ,u = 4m/s

  • Final velocity ,v = 8m/s

  • Time taken ,t = 2 s

To Find:-

  • Initial momentum ,Pi

  • Final momentum , Pf

Solution:-

We know that momentum is defined as the product of mass and velocity.

Firstly we calculate the initial momentum

•Pi = mu

Substitute the value we get

→ Pi = 100×4

→ Pi = 400kgm/s

Therefore, the initial momentum of the object is 400kgm/s.

Now , Calculating the Final momentum

• Pf = mv

Substitute the value we get

→ Pf = 100×8

→ Pf = 800kgm/s

Therefore, the final momentum of the object is 800kgm/s.
