  • Given: ac=15m, ab=12m, cb=a

  • In right angled triangle abc

 \bf  {h}^{2}  =  {b}^{2}  +  {p}^{2}

[By Pythagoras theorem]

 {ac}^{2}  =  {ab}^{2}  +  {bc}^{2}

 {15}^{2}   = {12}^{2}  +  {a}^{2}

225 = 144 +  {a}^{2} \\  \\ a =  \sqrt{81}  \\  \\ a = 9cm
