● If x-2 is a factor of the given equation then x=2 must satisfy the equation.

So

By putting the value of x=2 then

 => {x}^3 + 2{x}^2 + kx + 4 = 0

 => {2}^3 + 2{2}^2 + kx + 4 = 0

 => 8 + 2(4) + kx + 4 = 0

 => 8 + 8 + 4 + 2k = 0

 => 20 + 2k = 0

 => 2k = -20

 => k = -20/2

 => k = -10
