Answer:

molarity = no.moles / vol. of solution.

no. of moles = mass / molecular mass

mass = 15g

molecular mass = 75 approximately

therefore 15/75 = 0.2

volume is 1 liter so 0.2/1 = 0.2M

The answer is 0.2M

GIVEN

15 g of potassium chloride is dissolved in 1L

water.

TO FIND

The molarity of the solution.

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

We are given;

Mass of solute (KCl) = 15 grams

Moles of KCl = Given mass/molar mass

=15/75

= 0.2 mol

We know that,

Molarity = Moles of solute/volume of solution

= 0.2/1

= 0.2 M

Hence, The answer is 0.2M
