A box contains 3 red balls and 5 blue balls.

We have to find the probability of drawing one of the blue balls.

We know that,

\star \ \underline{\boxed{\sf P(E) = \dfrac{Favourable \ Outcomes}{Total \ Number \ Of \ Outcomes}}}

Here,

Total no.of outcomes = No.of red balls + No.of blue balls = 8.

Thus,

 \longrightarrow \sf P(E) =  \dfrac{5}{8}  \\  \\   \longrightarrow \boxed{ \boxed{ \sf P(E) =  0.63}}

Therefore, the probability of getting a blue ball is 0.63

Answer:

  • Box contains 3 red and 5 blue balls
  • Find probability of drawing one blue ball

\underline{\bigstar\:\textsf{According to the given Question :}}

:\Longrightarrow\sf P(E) = \dfrac{Favourable \ Outcomes}{Total \ Number \ Of \ Outcomes}\\\\\\:\Longrightarrow\sf P(E) = \dfrac{Blue \ Balls}{Red \ Balls+Blue \ Balls}\\\\\\:\Longrightarrow\sf P(E) = \dfrac{5}{3 + 5}\\\\\\:\Longrightarrow\sf P(E) = \dfrac{5}{8}\\\\\\:\Longrightarrow\sf P(E) = 0.625

\therefore\:\underline{\textsf{Probability of drawing one blue ball is \textbf{0.625}}}.
