  • This means that they have common difference thus,
  • Where p is the first term, q is the second and r is the third term.
  • If d is the common difference of the Arithmetic progression, i.e ,

                             q - p = d , r - q = d

                     implies that p+d =q , p+2d = r

        and therefore q is the middle term of p and r.
