Mass of electron is 9.1 × 10^-31 Kg

while mass of proton /neutron is 1.67 × 10^-27 Kg.

it is clear that mass of electron is very small compare to proton or neutron. so, we can neglect mass of electron.

then, atomic mass number = number of neutrons + number of protons.

initial number of protons = 7

number of neutron = 7

a/c to question,

the mass attributed to protons were halved.

means, number of protons = 7/2 = 3.5

now, mass number = number of protons + number of neutrons

= 3.5 + 7 = 10.5

hence, answer is 10.5
