In quadrilateral ABCD ∠ABC + ∠BCD + ∠CDA + ∠BAD = 2 × 1800
[ Angle Sum Property of a quadrilateral]
=> 1800 - 1/2∠z + ∠y + 1800 - 1/2∠z + ∠x = 2 × 1800
=> ∠x + ∠y = ∠z
