Does the following burn with our without flame? Explain well.

Answer:

1) Coal does not produce flame when burnt because it does not vapourizes, only those substances which vapourizes on burning produce flame like wax , natural gas.

2) Wood is a solid fuel but it do not burn with a flame. This is because wood do not form vapors. However, when the wood is ignited the small amount volatile matter present in it vaporize on heating burn with a flame . ... 2) A blue flame is produced during the complete combustion of substance.
