Answer:

a) All the basic functions of an organism takes place inside the cell. As bricks assemble to make a building, cell makes a body of an organism. A group of cells form tissues which perform specific functions. A group of tissues form organs, a group of organs form an organism. This is the reason why the cells are considered as structural and functional unit of life.

c) Rajni is very curious. He has scientific temper. He is curious to know how various things in her surroundings work.

Answer:

The cell is known as the structural and functional unit of life because all living beings are formed of cells. Cells are very important for performing various life processes which are required for sustaining life on earth. Moreover, cells give form and structure, process nutrients and make it into usable energy. The nucleus lies at the periphery of cytoplasm and vacuole is located in the centre. Presence of large vacuoles and cell wall confirms that cells of onion peel are plant cells. Take a piece of onion and bend it to remove the transparent membranous structure called onion epidermal peel.
