\mathbb{ SOLUTION } :

Total length of the rope is 35m

According to the question,
the rope is cut into two parts

one is 2/5 of the original
 \frac{2}{5} \times 35 = 14
so,
one piece of rope is 14 m

second piece of rope = 35 - 14 = 21 m

Hence,
The original rope (35m) was cut into 14 m and 21m.

Given : rope of length 35m is cut in to two parts. one is 2/5 of the original length .

To Find : what is longest ropes length.

Solution :

Total length of rope = 35m

Now,
The rope is cut into two parts

One is 2/5 of the original length

= 2/4×35 = 14 m

One piece of rope = 14 m

Second piece of rope = 35 - 14 = 21 m

So the required length of the longest part of the rope is 21 m.
